If you’re planning a trip to Paros, get ready to explore one of the most charming islands in the Cyclades. Between whitewashed villages, crystal-clear water, beach clubs, hidden coves, and some of the best food in Greece, Paros is such a great mixture of relaxation and adventure.

What I loved most about Paros is how balanced it feels. You can spend the morning wandering through bougainvillea-covered alleys, the afternoon swimming in unreal blue water, and the evening eating fresh seafood by the harbor before grabbing cocktails in Naoussa.

Whether you’re visiting for a few days while island hopping or making it your main destination, these are the absolute best things to do in Paros while you’re there. From boat days around Antiparos to long dinners on the waterfront and afternoons wandering through villages like Lefkes, these are the experiences that made me completely fall in love with the island.

Quick Deets for Visiting Paros

How to Get to Paros

Paros is really well connected to both Athens and the other Cycladic islands, making it a super easy to add to any Greece itinerary.

If you’re flying into Paros, you’ll get into Paros National Airport (PAS). You can catch a direct flight from Athens International Airport (ATH), which takes around 40 minutes. There’s no direct flights to the island from the US, but, during the summer months, there are also direct flights to Paros from several other European cities, making it super easy to reach.

Ferries are the most common way to get to the island, with the most common route from Piraeus Port in Athens to Paros. High speed ferries take about 2 hours 45 minutes, while the standard ferries take about 4 to 5 hours.

10 Things To Do In Paros That Will Make You Fall Love With The Island

1. Wander Through Naoussa Village

Naoussa was easily my favorite area in Paros, and I honestly think it’s the best place to stay on the island. The town is filled with winding white cobblestone alleys, colorful bougainvillea, waterfront restaurants, boutique shops, and little fishing boats lining the harbor.

The mornings here feel especially magical before the crowds arrive. Grab a coffee, wander through the quiet streets, and stop at all of the little corners that literally feel straight out of a postcard. Maybe you’ll even find a few kitties that will join in on your stroll :).

And yes — the famous pink Linardo door is worth finding!

2. Rent Your Own Boat Around Antiparos

Renting our own boat around Antiparos ended up being one of the highlights of our entire Greece trip.

You can actually rent a small private boat in Paros without needing a boating license and spend the day exploring the coast of Antiparos on your own – how cool!

The waters here are crystal-clear, and you’ll have the freedom to explore at your own pace, stopping for swims or just soaking in the sun. You’ll stop at the blue lagoon, for the brightest blue waters, and a few other beaches & swim stops that feel so private!

We booked this in advance via GetYourGuide HERE – and at $250 for the day, plus gas ($25ish), it was SO worth it!

3. Explore the Mountain Village of Lefkes

Lefkes felt completely different from the coastal towns in Paros and ended up being one of the most memorable stops of the trip.

The village sits in the mountains and is filled with narrow pathways, blooming bougainvillea, hidden courtyards, and beautiful churches. It’s quieter, slower paced, and feels much more traditional.

We randomly stopped at a tiny café near the church and ended up drinking wine beneath the bougainvillea while chatting up the worker, a local whose family actually helped plant many of the flowers around town! We could’ve easily spent the rest of the afternoon there chatting with him, and enjoying the views!

4. Spend the Afternoon at Paros Park

Paros Park feels like one of the island’s hidden gems. I honestly don’t see people talking about it enough!

It’s a protected nature reserve that is filled with walking trails, secluded beaches, dramatic coastal cliffs, and crystal-clear water.

We took Route 3, which focuses more on the beaches, and it led us to Playa de Guijarros — one of the prettiest swimming spots we found anywhere in Greece.

If you visit during shoulder season like we did, chance are, you might have the entire place to yourself. It was absolutely magical. One of my most favorite memories from this trip!

5. Swim at Kolymbithres Beach

Kolymbithres is probably the most unique beach in Paros thanks to its huge smooth granite rock formations that have been naturally shaped by wind and sea over time.

The beach is made up of little sandy coves with calm, shallow water that’s perfect for swimming. It’s the perfect place to post up on the rocks and hang for a while.

If you’re coming from Naoussa, you can also get here by water taxi for a fun, scenic route!

6. Have a Waterfront Dinner in Naoussa

One of the best things to do in Paros is to take a break from the adventuring for a long seafood dinner right on the water in Naoussa.

The harbor really comes alive at night, with tables spilling onto the walkways, fishing boats docked nearby, and the entire waterfront glowing after sunset. We had one of our favorite meals of the trip at Sigi Ikthios, where the seafood was incredibly fresh and the atmosphere was buzzing.

Order the octopus if you go — it was easily one of the best dishes we had in Greece.

7. Eat Gyros at Souvlakia Kargas

This was easily our favorite casual meal across our whole Greece trip!

After a full beach or boat day, there’s honestly nothing better than grabbing gyros and sitting at the tiny street-side tables in Naoussa while the town buzzes around you.

We ordered pork gyros and grilled halloumi, and I STILL dream about how good it was. Super casual, inexpensive, and completely lives up to the hype.

8. Try a Freddo Cappuccino at a Local Bakery

One thing you absolutely need to do while in Greece? Start your mornings with a freddo cappuccino.

Paros has so many cute bakeries and cafés tucked throughout Naoussa and Parikia, and grabbing an iced coffee and pastry before wandering the villages became one of my favorite little daily routines. Tserki Cafe either in Naoussa or Parikia became our go-to, we loved their coffee!

And, while you’re there, might as well grab a spinach pie for the beach later!

9. Take a Sunset Walk Along the Naoussa Harbor

Sometimes the best thing to do in Paros is to honestly just walk around and enjoy the views.

At sunset, the harbor in Naoussa completely glows as the light reflects off the water and white buildings. You’ll find people lingering outside restaurants, boats pulling into the marina, and little corners everywhere that feel straight out of a movie scene.

Make sure to take some time to enjoy a peaceful sunset walk along Naoussa’s picturesque waterfront. It’s really impossible to get bored of this view!

10. Shop the Boutiques Around Naoussa & Parikia

One of my favorite ways to spend time in Paros was honestly just wandering through the villages and popping into all of the little boutiques along the way.

Naoussa & Parikia have so many beautiful shops tucked between the white alleyways — from linen clothing and handmade jewelry to ceramics, beachwear, and little souvenirs that actually feel curated instead of touristy.

Even if you’re not planning on shopping much, it’s worth spending time slowly exploring the streets because every corner somehow feels prettier than the last.
